Lev Yashin was born in the Soviet Union in 193- He started playing football at a young age and quickly became a regular member of the Soviet Union youth team. In 1959, he made his senior debut and quickly became one of the best goalkeepers in the Soviet Union. In the 1960 Summer Olympics, he led the Soviet Union to the gold medal and in the 1966 World Cup, he helped Soviet Union to reach the semi-finals.
